Paston Ridings Primary School

Paston Ridings Primary School has been in existence since September 1994 and was created when the old infant and junior schools were joined together. So in a few years time we will be celebrating our 25th birthday!
Over the years the school has developed and grown. We are very lucky and have a huge amount of learning space, both inside and outside including: 21 classrooms, Children’s Kitchen, two libraries, reading support room, sensory suite, nurture room and our own swimming pool, which the children particularly enjoy splashing around it! We provide family swimming for our reception and year 1 children and their parent/carer.
Thinking about Paston Ridings for your child?
We understand that choosing a school for your child is a very important decision and one many of us at Paston Ridings have had to make for our own families. Our recent parent and carer questionnaire tells us that almost every family is happy with their choice. 97% of parents believe their child is happy, safe and well taught at Paston Ridings.
For those of you who have decided to choose Paston Ridings, we genuinely feel privileged that you have trusted us to support your son or daughter’s future learning and development. We believe that you know your child the best and we are very keen to work together with you to help your child to enjoy and flourish here and be the very best learner they can be.
At Paston Ridings we are working hard to create the very best place of learning we can, where your child learns to read, write and be numerate. During your child’s time here, we aim to help your child learn more about him or herself,  what his talents are, what he finds more difficult and how to celebrate and develop both. We want your children to believe in themselves and be able to leave Paston Ridings able to communicate well with others, who they will meet in their lives, which we hope, will be happy and fulfilled.
To achieve these things we need your help. From your first visit to the school, when you will visit with your child for an admissions meeting with a member of our team, we want to find out key information to help us settle your child into Paston Ridings as well as we can. We are interested in what your child enjoys learning about, what they find more challenging, if they can speak more than one language, what they are proud of. We want to hear if either of you have any worries about school life. Sometimes you might want to talk to us about something without your child hearing, which is fine. There will be a chance to visit your child’s new classroom team, meeting your child’s new teacher, teaching assistant and new friends in the class.
Working together…..
Whether you are a parent or carer, a member of the community, a visitor, we hope you find our website gives you an insight into our fabulous school. During your time with us we ask that you share anything positive and that you also let us know if there is something you think we could improve. This is particularly important for parents and carers. If there is ever something you are worried about, please talk to us about it before it grows into something which could have been sorted out easily and quickly. Your child will not be happy if you are not happy.
We look forward to working with you to continue to develop our school, a school we are very proud of and make it the very best place of learning it can be.
With kind regards,
Mrs Joanna Cook and the Paston Ridings Team
