St John’s Church School

St John’s Church School is situated in Orton Goldhay, Peterborough. In June 2015 we moved to a new, two form entry school building. With this new school came many exciting opportunities to create the most purposeful learning space possible.
St John’s is a good school that is dynamic and improving. Focused on creating better life chances for all children. We do this through excellent ICT, creative enrichment opportunities, high staff to children ratios and a real passion for children.

  • “Good teaching supports pupils in their learning and enables them to learn effectively, develop good self-esteem and to enjoy school.” Ofsted 2013

We have a very low staff turnover because we invest in all our stakeholders. With excellent professional development opportunities, focused in-house CPD and vibrant international experiences. Previous staff have left to take up deputy headships and headships.
Saint John’s Church School is a voluntary aided church school with close links with its foundation church, Christ Church. The Christian ethos of our school is outstanding. All staff are expected to support fully this aspect of our school life and practice.

  • “The school supports pupils spiritual, moral, social and cultural development especially well through its system of Christian values, enabling pupils to feel safe and to become well behaved and considerate.” Ofsted 2013

We are a community of learners with enquiring minds and a drive to achieve excellence.
