Werrington Primary School

We are a large, successful and happy primary school on the outskirts of Peterborough in the delightful village of Werrington.
Through working in partnership with our pupils, parents/carers and outside agencies we aim to provide a supportive and stimulating learning environment where every child can succeed. Uniquely we have two indoor/PE hall spaces, heated outdoor swimming pool and large grounds including wildlife and sensory courtyards and an environmental garden.
We have fully engaged with the National Curriculum 2014 and have embedded No Levels Assessment. The school has purchased assessment tracking systems which ensure teachers have the appropriate tools to undertake formative and summative assessment efficiently. Our broad curriculum is enriched through an extensive day visits programme as well as residential experiences in all KS2 year groups.
Teachers jointly plan in year groups and PPA time is covered using outside sports coaches, music teacher and computing coaches. We have a dedicated PPA room to enable teachers to work efficiently.
Our pupils are engaging and very keen to learn, absence rates are very low because children do not want to miss out on anything in school and parents support the school attendance policy. Class sizes of thirty pupils, exist across EYFS/KS1/KS2 (except where a pupil with a Statement or EHCP is admitted over this number).
Our NQT induction/support includes a dedicated mentor, guaranteed non-contact time as well as access to high quality CPD through the LA/Peterborough Learning Partnership.
We hope that you will find the information you require about our school from our website. However, we do encourage you to consider a visit to our school during the school day so that you can really experience the exciting buzz of learning at Werrington Primary School.
