The Person

  • Are you passionate about education?
  • Can you inspire and motivate students?
  • Are you driven and committed to leading students towards success?

If so, we are the school for you!

The Role

We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Literacy and Outdoor Learning who wishes to join an experienced and supportive faculty to make a real difference with our young people. A forward-thinking, dynamic teacher will only strengthen our existing team. The role supports the holistic and academic progress for students with low literacy and/or numeracy levels and therefore applications from Primary trained colleagues would be welcomed.

The faculty is established, well-resourced, and highly supportive. Led by a member of the Senior Leadership Team, they work collaboratively, always putting the needs of our students at the forefront of what we do. We have spacious and well-equipped teaching spaces and are supported by a range of experienced colleagues across the school. This post also delivers outdoor learning and Forest School lessons alongside literacy and numeracy. We would love to show you round our department and our academy.

Experience of teaching within the Primary Key Stage 2 phase (years 5 and 6) would be beneficial, however experience of teaching students with low literacy and numeracy skills is essential. This role offers you the opportunity to develop and excel as a teacher, within a strong and effective team of practitioners. We understand that working collaboratively not only improves outcomes, but also reduces workload.

We offer:

  • Salary commensurate to your experience
  • A strong and ongoing CPD program
  • Opportunities for career development and progression
  • Teachers’ pension scheme
  • Use of the onsite gym
  • A Senior Team that are keen to drive school improvement and are open to innovation and creative thinking
  • Half-termly staff wellbeing prize draws

The Four Cs MAT is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments involve regulated activity and are subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Barred Check List and two successful references. Online searches are carried out on all shortlisted candidates.
